Sabine Kloss-Tullius

Ms. Sabine Kloss-Tullius is the Head of the Application Processing Unit of the ETIAS Central Unit at the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex). ETIAS stands for European Travel and Information and Authorisation System. Starting in mid-2025, some 1.4 billion people from over 60 visa-exempt countries are required to have a travel authorisation to enter 30 European countries for a short stay.
Sabine has been involved in this project since February 2022, contributing to the setting up of the unit structure, recruiting operators that will be processing the ETIAS application, following closely the legal and regulatory development of ETIAS and Interoperability.
Prior to taking over ETIAS responsibilities, she was leading the Task Force responsible for preparing and deploying the first European Border and Coast Guard Standing Corps; before that, she managed units in administrative areas such as Finance, Procurement, Corporate Services or Human Resources.
Before joining Frontex in 2005, she worked for the European Commission in Poland as Project Manager for Justice and Home Affairs projects in view of preparing Poland’s accession to the EU.
She holds a Master in Political Science, Contemporary History and French and also graduated from Sciences Po in Paris.
