Border police officers from the Calafat Border Police Sector, in cooperation with Bulgarian border police officers and workers from the Craiova Regional Customs carried out a BLITZ-type action on DN 56, in the parking lot near the Calafat-Vidin bridge toll station, on the Bulgaria-Romania route.
On this occasion, a road combination consisting of a truck and trailer, registered in Turkey, driven by a Turkish citizen, traveling on the Turkey-Belgium route and transporting, according to the accompanying documents of the cargo, hazelnuts, was selected for inspection.
Following the inspection of the vehicle, the border police found that the customs seal was broken and glued, and twelve male persons were discovered in the cargo compartment, who declared themselves to be citizens of Iran and Egypt.
