The Spanish Civil Guard has carried out the largest operation against cocaine trafficking in the province of Almería

More than 120 officers from various specialties of the Civil Guard were deployed in this operation yesterday, Thursday, November 13, at several locations in the province of Almería. During the operation, nine house searches were carried out in the municipalities of Pechina, Viator, Roquetas de Mar, La Mojonera, Vícar, and El Ejido, where the detainees had implemented robust security measures.

In total, the Civil Guard seized nearly 1,500 kilos of cocaine. They also confiscated other drugs, including approximately 800 marijuana plants and one kilo of buds. Among the items seized were five firearms—one handgun and four blank-firing handguns—as well as various 9mm ammunition. They also confiscated five vehicles, €22,000 in cash, 24 high-end watches, encrypted mobile phones, and geolocation jamming devices.

As a result, 16 people have been arrested. Further arrests are possible once all the material seized during the searches has been analyzed.
