Siv-Katrine Leirtroe

Siv-Katrine Leirtroe from Norway took up her post as Head of Border Security and management Unit/TNTD on 05 February 2024. Prior to her new posting, she served as Deputy Head/Programme Coordinator in the OSCE Mission in Montenegro from July 2018 to January 2024.

With broad experience working from several international organizations, Siv has inter alia worked as Deputy Head of Office for the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Belgrade, Head of the Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro Desk at EUMM HQ in Sarajevo. Additionally, she has served as a Desk Officer in Western Balkan Section in the Norwegian MFA and worked in the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Pristina. Other assignments include an assignment to the UN in Kabul, the International Civilian Office and the International Management Group in Kosovo and as a Public Administration Advisor for the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in Ukraine.

She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and Balkan studies from the University of Oslo, and a Diploma in Croatian from the University of Zagreb. She is fluent in Norwegian, English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian.
