Helen Gordos is a Training and Development Specialist in Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking with the National Policing Modern Slavery and Organised Immigration Crime Unit (MSOICU). With more than 12 years’ experience in the field of modern slavery and over 30 years in law enforcement, she brings extensive operational, investigative, and strategic expertise to tackling some of the most serious and complex crimes.

Helen spent over a decade as a Tactical Advisor on Modern Slavery for the National Crime Agency, providing national and international support to law enforcement partners. She has deployed operationally across Europe as well as in Nigeria and Indonesia, delivering specialist training and guiding high-risk investigations. Her contributions have been recognised through multiple Chief Constable Commendations.

A qualified Learning and Development professional, Helen holds a Level 4 Learning and Development qualification and has developed a wide range of bespoke training packages for UK policing, partner agencies, and international audiences.

Helen is also an experienced keynote speaker at conferences across the UK and Europe, sharing insights on modern slavery, serious and complex crime management, partnership working, and safeguarding vulnerable individuals. She has chaired multi-agency MARACs (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences) for domestic abuse, leading coordinated responses to protect high-risk victims.

Her expertise extends into the creative sector, where she has supported script development for Coronation Street, and she has appeared on national television, including the Victoria Derbyshire Show and The One Show, helping raise public awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Helen continues to champion improved understanding, enhanced operational capability, and a victim-centred approach across the global fight against modern slavery.
