Polish Border Guards detained a 27-year-old Polish citizen. He was involved in organizing illegal migration across the border with Belarus. Furthermore, over 2.2 kilograms of mephedrone, with a street value exceeding 130,000 PLN, were seized at his residence. At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered him to be temporarily detained for three months.
The meticulous efforts of officers from the Border Guard Post in Sławatycze and the Operations Security Department of the Nadbużański Border Guard Unit led to the identification and location of a 27-year-old Polish citizen suspected of leading a human trafficking operation.
Investigative findings show that in 2025 the man organized for people to illegally cross the state border from the territory of Belarus to Poland.
The suspect’s arrest required Border Guard officers to conduct extensive operational and reconnaissance activities. Seeking to avoid criminal liability, the man regularly and frequently changed his location, which was intended to hinder investigative activities.
During a search of the 27-year-old’s residence, officers from the Nadbużański Border Guard Unit discovered and seized a significant quantity of psychotropic substances, including 2,214.98 grams of mephedrone. The black market value of the seized drugs is estimated at over 130,000 złoty. The evidence collected indicates that these substances were prepared for illegal trade.
The detained man was taken to the Biała Podlaska Branch Centre of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, where the prosecutor charged him with organizing illegal migration (Article 264 § 3 of the Penal Code) and possession of a significant amount of narcotics (Article 62 paragraph 2 of the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction).
