On September 3, in the area of the Ovcha Kupel residential area, a 17-year-old youth was detained as part of a police operation. 10 kilograms of marijuana, distributed in ten vacuum-sealed packages weighing about one kilogram each, were found and seized in a car.
According to the investigation, the car was used as a kind of warehouse for the drug. The scheme was organized in such a way as to avoid direct contact between the seller and the buyer. With each pre-arranged transaction, the buyer received information about the location of the parked car, as well as instructions on where the key was left so that he could pick up the drug.
After a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, the detainee was brought in as an accused and, by a prosecutor’s decree, was detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
In another police operation, officers of the Criminal Countermeasures Sector at the Sixth Regional Directorate of the State Internal Affairs Directorate seized another 129 grams of marijuana and 10 grams of cocaine.
During the operational actions in the area of Ljubljana Street, near 66. Sofia University, a place where hemp plants were grown was identified. Surveillance was organized and at around 7 p.m. a 60-year-old criminally active man was detained while watering the plants.
During the subsequent procedural and investigative actions, 129 grams of marijuana and 10 grams of cocaine, as well as 23 hemp plants, were seized.
