Romanian border police officers from the Calafat Border Police Sector carried out a control on a freight truck registered in Romania, driven by a Turkish citizen, traveling on the Turkey-Austria route.
Following preliminary checks carried out on the truck, the border guards found that it was sealed and was carrying tissues and water, however, during the detailed checks carried out jointly by the border guards from SPF Calafat and STPF Dolj, it was established that access to the cargo compartment was achieved by removing the screws that secured the closing/opening system of the semi-trailer doors, without the integrity of the customs seal being affected.
As a result, the means of transport was unsealed, and inside the semi-trailer , fifteen male individuals were discovered, hidden in the cargo compartment , who declared themselves to be citizens of Iran and Iraq.
