Siri Bjune

Ms. Siri Bjune (Norway) is the Chief of Border Management Branch (BMB) under the UNODC’s Division for Operations. In this role, she oversees UNODC’s work on border management support to Member States, including programming on maritime security, port and airport control, disruption of criminal networks and tackling crimes that affect the environment.
Prior to her appointment as Chief of BMB, Ms. Bjune was the Head of the UNODC Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The role included setting the strategy, policy, programming and portfolio development for GMCP and providing support to regional teams.
After University, Ms. Bjune worked with the Norwegian law enforcement for a year, before moving abroad. She was a trainee for the EFTA Surveillance Authority in Brussels and joined the UNODC HQ in Vienna in 2007 as an Associate Expert within UNODC’s Anti-Corruption Branch. She joined the Global Maritime Crime Programme in 2013.
Ms. Bjune was appointed as the UNOV/UNODC Focal Point on Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism (Anti-Racism Advocate) in March 2025.
Ms. Bjune holds a law degree from the University in Oslo.
