Lt.Col. Özkan Altiner works as the counter-terrorism branch chief within the gendarmerie general command HQ for 4 years. His primary focus is investigating and analysing the terror crimes related to PKK. He has had a wide spectrum of experiences in different areas including border security.

He previously worked as the education & cooperation section chief in NATO Stability Policing COE.

This is his 23rd serving year as a gendarmerie officer.
