Olivier Yvon is a French Engineer from Supelec Paris and has an MBA degree from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
He has 35 years of experience mainly in management of large real-time systems for Defence and Security domains, especially in the Middle-East.
In 1981-1982, he was Professor of telecommunications in a technical university of Beirut Lebanon. He then joined Thales group.
From 1985 to 1990, he was System Engineer then Resident Program Manager in Kuwait for the Kuwait Air Force and Air Defence C3 system. During the first Gulf war, he was taken hostage and human shield in Iraq by the Iraqi forces. He moved to Air Traffic Management domain and was Resident Program Manager in Jeddah Saudi Arabia for the electronic systems of new Dhahran airport. He then performed the same activity for the new Athens airport.
He joined Airbus Defence and Space in 2003 to take responsibility of the naval and maritime activities in France. He was head of the team in charge of bid and program management of the French-Italian multi-mission frigates and afterwards of the French coastal surveillance system SPATIONAV covering the 4000 km of French coasts. He is now resident in Riyadh Saudi Arabia where he is responsible for the maritime part of the Border Security Program for Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior and Border Guard.
