Mr. Gerald Tatzgern is working at the Criminal Intelligence Service of Austria and is responsible for combating illegal immigrant smuggling and human trafficking.
Since 2002 he is the Head of the Central Service combating human smuggling and human trafficking and is therefore responsible for the nationwide coordination and conducting of investigations, as well as for the international police cooperation in this sector.
Furthermore the officer is an international expert for the combating of organised illegal immigration networks and human trafficking and is giving lectures on different international police colleges as well as international Organisations.
He attended the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt and both of his diploma theses (B.A. and M.A.) dealt with the topics of combating human smuggling and child trafficking. His primary focus during his study was begging in terms of human trafficking.
