Dr. Aikaterini POUSTOURLI is a Member Advisory Group of H2020 projects, a Scientific/Technical Officer of the Hellenic Higher Education since 2001 and an invited Lecturer and Special Adviser on Research & Innovation issues of the postgraduate program entitled “Analysis and management of manmade and natural disasters” of IHU, since 2014. She received the Industrial Engineering integrated Master degree from the Technical University of Crete and her Doctorate in Quality-Robust-Resilience Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. She also completing the MIT postgraduate programme on Innovation Management and Design Thinking.
She served the European Commission as National Expert and in particular as Policy/Project Officer of the DG HOME Affairs & Migration and as Scientific/Technical Officer of the DG Joint Research Centre and the Institution for Protection and Security of Citizens where contributed on building capacities through R&I, Standardization and Communities of Users and Practitioners. Her professional background also includes more than 20 years of working experience in Greece, on the 3 pillars of Quality Infrastructure (Standardisation, Metrology, Conformity Assessment), on several economic sectors both in the public and private sector. Moreover, she used to work as ISO Management Standards Systems Lead Auditor and she was active as Adjunct Professor in undergraduate and postgraduate courses and accredited Vocational trainer on the aforementioned topics. Her main research interests are focused on the application of the knowledge and innovation management, design thinking and resilient engineering on the Disaster Risk Reduction framework.
