Portuguese Immigration and Border Service (SEF)

National Director of the Immigration and Border Services since 16 January 2019, started her career as an Inspector at the Border Post in Lisbon Airport in 1993.

Along her career as Inspector Coordinator Adviser of the Investigation and Inspection Career of the Immigration and Border Services has acquired a profound experience in areas such as legal migration, fight against human trafficking and migrant smuggling, as well as in the documentation of nationals and foreigners.

Through the years has represented Portugal, among others, at the UE Legal Migration and Visa Working Groups, at the Rabat Process and the Global Forum on Migration and Development.

Is the alternate member form Portugal at the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) and at the Board of Directors of eu-LISA European Agency. Leads the Portuguese Delegation in the Strategic Committee on Immigration, Frontiers and Asylum (SCIFA), and represents SEF at the High Level Asylum and Migration Group.

As for bilateral and multilateral relations with African countries, namely with the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), SEF is always represented by the National Director of the Migration and Border Service in areas that concern migration and border security.
