Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Rodriguez currently serves as the Deputy Attaché for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), ICE-Homeland Security Investigations in Spain, Portugal and Andorra, located at the US Embassy in Madrid, Spain. In his role, he oversees operational coordination of activities involving a diversified portfolio of investigations with Spanish, Portuguese and Andorran law Enforcement agencies,  ranging from Counter proliferation, Human Smuggling and Trafficking, Money Laundering, Narcotics, Financial Fraud and Counterterrorism that affects the interests of the host country and the United States.  DHS is the largest federal law enforcement component at the US Embassy in Madrid, also responsible for the implementation of the Container Security Initiative, Immigration Advisory Program and Visa Security Program in Spain.  SSA Rodriguez previously served as a Program Manager for the HSI Counterterrorism and Criminal Exploitation Unit (CTCEU) in Washington, DC.

 

SSA Rodriguez has over 15 years of federal law enforcement experience, also serving as a Senior Special Agent for the ICE Office of Professional Responsibility. SSA Rodriguez also served as a Special Agent with HSI San Juan, and as a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer for four years, where he gained experience adjudicating immigration benefits and establishing admissibility of travelers at the Port of Entry, including those with possible nexus to terrorism activities, where worked on a daily basis with the CBP National Targeting Center.

 

SSA Rodriguez has a BA in Communications from the Sacred Heart University in San Jan, PR.
