Captain Junaid Abdullahi is an indigene of Kazaure in Jigawa State.
He attended Nasarawa Primary School, Katsina and Magwan Primary School, Kano, respectively between 1965 and 1971 where he obtained his first school leaving certificate. Thereafter, he proceeded to the renowned Rumfa College also in Kano State, from 1972 to 1976 for his secondary school education. Captain Abdullahi also attended the School of Basic Studies at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in 1976.
In pursuing his dream of being a Commercial Pilot, he proceeded to Burnside-OTT Aviation Centre, Miami, Florida in the United States of America (USA) where he obtained the Commercial Pilot License, Airplane Single and Multi-Engine land Instrument rating and jet transition on Lear-Jet 24 and the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Florida, USA for Recurrency on Advance Instrument Flight Procedures between 1976 and 1978 and he obtained the Airline Transport Pilot License , Airplanes and Rotorcraft Helicopters with Instruments Rating from Veratile Helicopters Inc, Admore, Oklahoma, USA in 1992.
As a Pilot, he worked with several aviation companies; United Air Services, Aero Contractors and Imani Aviation Limited.
He retired from active flying in 1998 and went into private business.
Until his appointment, he was the Executive Chairman of First Group Limited. He was appointed the Executive Secretary Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) on the 22nd of September, 2018.
