Peter van den Berg. He works from 1973 in a police-district Zuid-Holland-Zuid. In 1978 he was posted at Willemstad to the Dutch National Water Police. From that time, he was involved in fighting against international criminal activities of the waterways. In 1989 he was transferred to the Staff of the Dutch National Water Police. In 2003 he became Chief of the staff of the Dutch National Water Police There he became Chief Superintendent. He is involved in concerning combating terrorism of the waterways and the North Sea. (Port Security, short-sea shipping and maritime safety). Peter van den Berg is since 2008 deputy chairman working group Maritime of Aquapol a EU framework partner in a network of European Water Police forces and water-inspectorates and since 2008 Vice President Maritime of the European Association of Airport and Seaport Police. In 2014 he became Head of Department for International Cooperation and Head of the Knowledge and Expertise Centre from the National Police, Central Unit, Central Infrastructure Division Executive support.
